If you or a family member is experiencing any symptoms associated with any of these conditions, your local community pharmacy can help.
You can either call or walk into your local pharmacy and have a free consultation with the pharmacist. If the pharmacy is particularly busy you may have to make an appointment but in most cases the pharmacist will be able to see you on the same day.
The Pharmacy First service is designed to enable pharmacists to offer professional advice and, if they deem it clinically necessary, they will propose an NHS medicine to treat the condition (please note that NHS prescription charges will apply if you usually pay for medicines supplied via a prescription).
Should the pharmacist not be able to assist you, they may recommend that you visit your own GP surgery or a relevant NHS urgent care provider.
